Dear Jawad: the Arabic word for matrices is مصفوفات and it is the fact that matrix multiplication is not commutative (A times B is not necessarily equal to B times A) what had led Heisenberg to his uncertainity principle. Most physicits at the time were familiar with Partial Differential Equations, hence Schroedinger Wave Equation was easier to understand than matrix computations. But now Linear Algebra s given at first year university education one could argue the opposite.

Just a minor correction. There was a private American University called Jami3at al-Hikmah, probably run by a Jesuit order. Abd al-Karim Qasim attended once its graduation ceremony. In 1968 or shortly after that the Bathi regime shut id down. So it was before al-Kulya al-Jami3ah which later became al-Mustansiriyah univ.
I bought and read it as book in 1981. It was first published by George Leen & Unwin in 1957 . But its conents is still valid today and apply to many religions.
